Cerro Piergiorgio - West face
2. All you need is love
600m A3 5+
David Autheman and Michel Bordet (France), 30/11/1999.
Description. The route climbs a pillar on the far right side of the face. It involves two very distinct sections, compact slabs that required a lot of drilling (bathooks, rivets and bolts for five pitches!) and a distinct dihedral in the upper part.
History. The first ascent party fixed ropes to within 80 meters of the easy terrain leading to the summit ridge, some 80 meters below the summit, from where they retreated. They named the route after the well known Beatles song.
Approach. Glaciar Marconi.
Descent. Via the same route.
